A platypus conservation program in the Royal National Park, north of the Illawarra, is being hailed a success after offspring was discovered!
Last year, 10 platypuses were released into the wild in the Hacking River, 50 years after being marked locally extinct!
Researchers have now discovered a baby platypus in the River - a female estimated to be 6 months old.
She will be named by the local Indigenous community.
